Why We Started
Charleston Discount Grocery was born from a simple belief: everyone in our community deserves access to quality, affordable food. We saw families struggling with rising grocery costs and knew there had to be a better way.
By partnering with suppliers to purchase overstock, close-dated, and surplus items, we're able to offer the same trusted brands at prices 30-70% lower than traditional grocery stores. We're not a food bank—we're a business built on smart purchasing and passing those savings directly to you.
But we're more than just low prices. We're your neighbors. We're committed to treating every customer with dignity and respect, creating a shopping experience that feels welcoming and supportive.

Becky & Brian Furry — Husband and Wife, Neighbors and Servants at Heart
Brian & Becky Furry
Brian and Becky Furry are lifelong residents of Charleston, Illinois, born and raised in the very community they are proud to serve. Charleston is not just where they do business. It is their hometown, deeply rooted in their family history and faith.
Guided by their belief in stewardship and service, Brian and Becky opened Charleston Discount Grocery with one simple goal: to be good stewards of what they've been given and to help their community as much as possible. For them, business is about more than groceries. It is about caring for neighbors, supporting families, and giving back wherever they can.
Their local ties run deep. The Furry family history in this area dates back generations, including roots reaching to Janesville, named in 1839 after Jane Furry. With that legacy comes a strong sense of responsibility and pride.
This is their home. This is their community. And they don't see themselves going anywhere anytime soon. Brian and Becky are honored to serve Charleston and are grateful for every opportunity to help, support, and grow alongside the people who call this place home.
